- Description
- The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has a requirement for expert consulting services for an architecture modernization effort.� This will position the SEC to be in compliance with their Strategic Goal #3 which calls for elevating the SEC's Performance by enhancing its IT Support Infrastructure, Analytical Capabilities and Human Capital Development.� The SEC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with The MITRE Corporation, an IRS sponsored Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), as these requirements cannot be met as effectively by existing resources.� MITRE is a non-profit firm specializing in research for government agencies, as such will operate in the public interest with objectivity and independence, and free from organizational conflicts.� MITRE Corporation is uniquely capable of providing expertise and analytical support to the SEC to develop and deploy a new, responsive target architecture while reducing the operating risks of implementing a new architecture and ensuring operational continuity.� This is a notice of intent, not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Thursday, April 9th, 5:00 PM, EDT. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Karen Glass at glassk@sec.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
