- Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic intends to award a sole source, Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order to Campbell Scientific, Inc., 815 West 1800 North, Logan, UT 84321 to procure one (1) Quick Deploy Meteorology (MET) Station. The MET Station provides surface measurements of atmospheric pressure, air temperature, humidity and wind speed/direction for use at the Antarctic field camps. The stations are completely autonomous, collecting weather measurements, transmitting measurements wirelessly to a tablet device and via Iridium satellite communications to the McMurdo Station weather network. The stations are of a compact design that allows for transport in a protective case via helicopter or light aircraft and requires minimal personnel to assemble and mount on snow, ice, or terra firma. These stations will be used as a laboratory developmental/training asset for existing Campbell Scientific MET Stations currently in service at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. The estimated value of the order is $16,300. The authority for soliciting from a single source is FAR 13.106(b)(1). This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement within five (5) days of this publication. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
