Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command � New Jersey, on behalf of U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command � Armaments Center (CCDC AC), Explosives Research Branch at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is conducting market research to determine the capability of businesses to supply and deliver one (1) Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB), which will be used to replace existing antiquated equipment within CCDC AC facilities. The SHPB testing capability is required to accurately gather material response information for materials in high strain rate regimes typically found in armament applications.� BACKGROUND: One (1) SHPB will need to meet the following specifications: Flat double wide base platform system 40� long, 0.75� compression bars (C350 maraging steel), 10 ft nominal (2x) 0.75� tension bars (C50 maraging steel), 10 ft nominal (2x) 0.375� compression bars (C350 maraging steel), 8 ft nominal (2x) 0.75� compression bars (7075 Aluminum), 10 ft nominal (2x) 0.75� tension bars (7075 Aluminum l), 10 ft nominal (2x) 0.375� compression bars (7075 Aluminum), 8 ft nominal (2x) Bar Supports (12x) 0.75� bar support bushing (24x) 0.375� bar support bushing (20x) 0.75� momentum trap for incident bar (2x) 2� diameter gas launcher 36� gas launcher barrel Gas gun automation package compression adapters, tension adapters, barrels, stop stand, hydraulic energy absorption servo mechanical system up to 50 in/sec: 500 lb up to 5in/sec 5000 lbs quasi-static test assembly with 10kip high frequency load cell chronograph module, air compressor System assembly and maintenance tools/equipment � The contractor shall also have the capability to deliver and install the equipment, as well as provide on-site training to CCDC AC personnel and provide the associated Technical Data Package (TDP) to include drawings, technical specifications and training/operation instructions. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 333249 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. The Federal Supply Code is 6640 Laboratory Equipment and Supplies. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to respond; however, each respondent must clearly identify their business size in their capabilities statement. SUBMISSION DETAILS: Each potential source is requested to provide the contract number(s), dollar value(s) and brief description of work previously or currently being performed, which specifically demonstrates the contractor's ability to successfully satisfy the requirements of the high speed optical switches. Firms shall also provide point of contact information, where available, for the efforts cited above.� In addition, please provide the firm�s name and address, point of contact with telephone number and email address, CAGE Code and DUNS number, and size of business (i.e. large, small, disadvantaged, veteran owned, woman owned, etc.). All data should be sent at no cost to the US Government by April 16, 2020 at 3PM Eastern Time.
