Description
GENERAL: This is a pre-solicitation notice only and does not constitute a solicitation; accordingly, no response is due at this time, nor will any questions of a technical or contractual nature be answered. Those questions will only be answered via an amendment to the solicitation once it is issued. The Veterans Benefits Administration anticipates issuing a solicitation for the following project. 1. Title of Project: REFURBISH TWO ELEVATORS IN BUILDING 42 AT MONTGOMERY AL VBA RO. 2. Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, transportation and materials required for the replacement of the following components for two 4000-pound capacity hydraulic elevator: Hydraulic power/pump unit/shut-off valves/motor and oil Elevator controller and starter New ADA compliant car door operator and rollers Emergency fire fighters service Replace current car top inspection station with new station to include a light with protective metal guard, 120VAC GFCI receptacle and fire service indicator All wiring and connectors shall be upgraded to comply with current codes Install new car operating stations and hallway operating stations to meet current standards. Install new jack stand oil recovery systems Install new guides and rollers for smooth travel Perform post overhaul adjustments and weight testing Work will be in accordance with all contract documents (drawings/specifications). All work shall meet or exceed all applicable codes, standards and regulations as outlined in ASME A17.1. Work will include all associated mechanical, electrical, etc., for a complete job. This contract shall not require access to a VA system or VA sensitive information (e.g., system administrator privileged access to a VA system, or contractor systems or processes that utilize VA sensitive information). 3. Location of Work: Montgomery VA Regional Office, Montgomery, AL, Building 42.
