- The BHHCS Medical Center is seeking required damper inspection/testing. Inspection and testing shall be completed in accordance with the most current applicable NFPA and Joint Commission standards. Our current inventory includes approximately 137 dampers needing inspection. Services will be delivered at the VA Medical Center 500 N. 5th St., Hot Springs, SD, 57747 The contracting service will be responsible for providing: Follow Dust Control Procedures Clean debris from all surfaces of the fire damper. Lubricate moving parts, where needed. Actuate each fire damper by removing the fusible link and making sure that the fire damper fully closes. Use pneumatic safety device if required to safely remove fusible link. Reset the fire damper with a new fusible link (where applicable) with same temperature rating and design as original fusible link. Use pneumatic safety device if required to safely re-install fusible link Document the date that the fire damper was tested and if the fire damper passed or failed inspection. If a fire damper fails testing a detailed reason of why the fire damper failed will be provided and the corrective measure required. Provide a fire damper testing report to the fire department, C/O Fire Chief Eugene Farmer. Identify on Life Safety Drawings the location of each Damper, along with placement by vendor of identification stickers on ceilings or other location to assist in locating such Dampers following inspection. Photograph each individual fire damper actuated and reset with new fusible link. Contractor to complete the fire/smoke damper inspection within 15 days after contract award. VA Medical Center Hot Springs SD will be responsible for providing ensuring: Providing accurate life safety drawings, Provide other information pertaining to successful completion of inspection, Assist in placing the fire alarm system in test mode, if needed,
