- Page 1 of 1 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract using DESIGN-BUILD selection procedures for a SPECT/CT Site Preparation Project at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Augusta, Georgia. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project will include the design and construction of the existing walls inside the exam room for a new lay-out to accept a Siemens Symbia Intevo. The work will include removal of the exam room drywall, walls, flooring, and ceiling. Removal of the existing tile on the common corridor wall is also included. Some existing framing is to remain, and new framing will be added. The existing ductwork for HVAC will be reworked and approximately two (2) tons of air added to the area. Install a new conduit and one electrical feeder not to exceed 175 for the proposed Exam Room and Control Room equipment requirements. Install sound batt insulation in all new Exam Room walls. Install 1/16 lead to seven feet (7 ) above finished floor in the new Exam Room. Install new drywall to the walls to above ceiling height and in the Exam Room, Control Room, and new wall at exterior of the Exam Room. Install two new 1/16 lead equivalent view windows with frames and one pair of lead lined entry doors and frame. Finishes include new medical grade flooring in the Exam Room and Control Room. Patch the existing VCT flooring in the Control Area as needed. Install new Acoustical Tile grid and ceiling and paint walls in the Exam Room. More information, to include specifications and drawings, will be available when the solicitation is issued. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 15, 19, and 36 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Proposals received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $39.5 Million. The solicitation will be issued on or about March 20, 2020. The period of performance is approximately 180 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.
