DISCLAIMER THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) TO BE SUBMITTED. IT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. IF A SOLICITATION IS RELEASED, IT WILL BE SYNOPSIZED ON THE GOVERNMENT-WIDE POINT OF ENTRY (GPE). IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF POTENTIAL OFFERORS TO MONITOR THE GPE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THIS REQUIREMENT. BACKGROUND: The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 333249 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500. The Federal Supply Code is 3650 (Chemical and Pharmaceutical Machinery). Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to respond; however, each respondent must clearly identify their business size in their capabilities statement. SUBMISSION DETAILS: Each potential source is requested to provide the contract number(s), dollar value(s) and brief description of work previously or currently being performed, which specifically demonstrates the contractor's ability to successfully satisfy the requirements of the US Government. The US Government requires process equipment for the continuous mixing and devolatilization of nitrocellulose-based mixtures. The technologies must utilize a variable-speed low shear mixing configuration that allows for high levels of surface renewal for highly-controllable and efficient volatiles removal. The equipment must have multiple temperature zones for advanced control of material temperatures and adjustment of volatiles removal rate. Additionally, the system must be designed to process the materials in an unconfined state and support operations with a partially-filled chamber to facilitate devolatilization without the use of melt seals. The equipment configuration must also include supporting peripherals, including a volatiles collection system, single or twin-screw solids feeds, liquid feed port, and single or twin-screw material discharge for continuous operations. The equipment shall be sized with a total volume between 20 and 30 liters with a total length of processing chambers not to exceed 48 inches. The equipment must meet the requirements for operating in an NFPA 495 Class II, Division II environment. Firms shall also provide point of contact information, where available, for the efforts cited above. In addition, please provide the firms name and address, point of contact with telephone number and email address, CAGE Code and DUNS number, and size of business (i.e. large, small, disadvantaged, veteran owned, woman owned, etc.).
