Request for Information� Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility �Ozone Sanitizing System Market Research Background:� The U.S. Navy utilizes a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) onboard ship such as ballistic vests, flotation vests, helmets, safety harnesses, and other tactical and safety items. Due to their design and components, these items are difficult to launder using traditional methods. However, they are prone to contamination via sweat and other bodily fluids causing bacteria growth/spread and unpleasant odors requiring the need to be cleaned between uses. Description:� This Request for Information (RFI) seeks to obtain information from industry about the capabilities to sanitize PPE shipboard using Ozone (O3). This RFI seeks to identify capable and reliable sources who may be interested in submitting a proposal for market research purposes only. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT DIRECTLY FROM THE RESPONSE TO THE RFI/SOURCES SOUGHT, OR TO OTHERWISE PAY FOR INFORMATION RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THE RFI/SOURCES SOUGHT. Candidates: To respond to this RFI, interested candidates are asked to address the following capabilities within their response to enable the Government to efficiently evaluate the system and see how its functions can be utilized and benefit the U.S. Navy. Technical specifications describing the size of system and the space required (electrical, ventilation, etc.) Technical specifications describing the Ozone (O3) technology used during the sanitization process Any relevant test data, specifically in regards to the elimination of bacteria and the degradation of materials User instructions / manual Maintenance requirements Safety features 3rd Party certifications Berry Compliance Cost per unit Lead time Interested parties shall provide information with regards to their particular company to include Company name, address, point of contact, email address, phone number. Responses to questions and information regarding Ozone Sanitizing Systems submitted by interested candidates are due electronically by COB 29 MAY 2020. Information will be handled as proprietary.
