- Description
- See below questions and answers: Q1. Are the 10 replacement posts required to be round or square? A1. The fence posts are required to have a minimum diameter of 7 (paragraph 4 of SOW. Diameter is a dimension provided for round posts.) Q2. What is the spacing between the existing posts? A2. Variable see below. Q3. What bracing already exists, and what additional bracing is required? A3. Variable see below. Q4. How many corners/angle changes are there? A4. See aerial map. Variable see below. Variable: Post spacing is not uniform, it varies according to site conditions slopes, bends, sags, crests 20 +/- is a typical spacing for straight fence sections. Variable also includes the existing condition of the fence to be replaced which was heavily damaged by a windstorm and blowdown; the posts are generally in fair/good condition; the wire fencings is in the worst condition. Some areas have bracing installed (some of which is damaged) others that will be required to incorporate the bracing do not. The small quantity of new posts to be installed will be installed directly adjacent or in the same location as those being replaced. Locations that require additional bracing would be those that when new fencing is installed does not result in an installation that is stable. Locations where the bracing detail is required are those which are subject to unbalanced forces. A corner is defined as a place where two or more sides or edges meet. For the purposes of this project that definition will be a horizontal or vertical change in direction exceeding 45 degrees. Additionally; bracing is required for fence posts on each side of gate openings. Site visits are highly encouraged in order to become familiar with conditions. This project consists of the removal, disposal, and construction of 20,854 linear feet of woven wire fencing. Existing fence shall be undamaged and reused.
