- Description
- Synopsis and Notice of Intent: The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) intends to award a purchase order to Orchid Inc., located in Bethesda, MD 20817 for the renewal of Membership from June 1st, 2020 till May 31st 2021 as Base and we will reserve the right to exercise Option Years. ORCID Inc is the sole source of this membership service to track PIs and their publications or grant applications. ORCID is a unique international collaboration between authors, publishers and funders like NIH. It is the only service that provides a unique persistent identifier for a scientific author. It is the only way to reliably track authors across multiple papers, even if they change their name, or if there is more than one person with the same name. NIH uses ORCID to help track our investigators and their scientific publications. With ORCID, NIH can track people throughout their career, even if they change jobs, their names, or have a common name, which helps us better understand the impacts of our funding and training. NIH recently received OMB clearance to require ORCID identifiers for PIs of all grant applications. This full Membership fee will support technical consultation to make system changes and data feeds to support operations. In compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a single source. This solicitation is not a Small Business Set- Aside. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; all responses received, before the closing date of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that this posting will be available ten (10) days after the publication date of this synopsis. All interested parties to this solicitation may request a copy of the RFQ package in writing to the attention of Mr. Moe FILALI at Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) 6710B Rockledge Drive, Room 1145D Bethesda, MD 20892 or via email Moe.filali@nih.gov. All offers must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number no later than May 18 2020 at 11 am ET. Email addresses are encouraged and are mandatory (due to Social distancing).
