- SYNOPSIS Multipurpose Aircraft Component Handling Dolly The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to issue an award on a Sole Source basis with Erie Engineered Products, Inc. (Cage: 98425) for the procurement of a Qty of (1) Multipurpose Aircraft Component Handling Dolly, NSN: 1730-01-668-9897, P/N: 4140AS0100-1, in support of the Royal Spain Air Force (RSAF) F/A-18 Program. This support equipment (SE) item is required to Remove/Replace the AEA-18G Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), Generator, Nose Landing Gear, and Main landing Gear Trunnion. The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1. Erie Engineered Products, Inc. as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and qualified manufacturer and supplier of the Multipurpose Aircraft Component Handling Dolly is the only source capable of providing the SE of the same form, fit and function that is compatible with the existing configuration.� Any other sources would need to possess the drawings/technical data to be able to perform this requirement.� U.S. Government does not have sufficient engineering data or drawings to organically design the said Support Equipment (SE) to enable a competitive solicitation. �THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT POSSESS THE TECHNICAL DATA PACKAGE/DRAWINGS TO ALLOW FOR A COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT.��� All responsible sources may submit a response which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS.� A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for an award of a contract.� Responses must be received within fifteen (15) days of publication of this notice.
