Description

NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) is interested in purchasing a versatile Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) system for alloy processing and development purposes.� The system should be capable of melting, with tilt pour capability for casting into molds (at least 3.5 ft. high), with dual furnace capability.� One furnace will be optimized to handle 50 kg. heats and one furnace sized to handle 5 kg. heats of typical Fe-, Co- and Ni-based alloys and other related metallic materials under vacuum or an environment of inert gas.� Each furnace will be mounted to its own door and will include an independent power pass through, furnace cradle and tilt mechanism and will be connected to its own dedicated power supply.��� See Attachement�1 for the full Combined Synopsis / Solicitation and Specifications and Requirements.
