Description
Interactive Learning for Mission Planning BAA Industry Day Announcement The Air Force Research Laboratory/Information Directorate will be conducting a virtual Industry Day on Friday, May 22nd, 2020 regarding Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) FA8750-20-S-7001 for the Interactive Learning for Mission Planning (ILMP) program. The purpose of this event is to provide interested companies/entities with an overview of the problem space that the ILMP program is addressing. This virtual event is being held to promote specific areas of interest, promote an early exchange of information, and provide an opportunity for both the Government and Industry to gather more information prior to the submission of white papers as previously solicited on the SAM.gov web site. This event will be prerecorded as an audio / video presentation and distributed as a single, digital file to a mailing list of approved recipients in lieu of a live conference call or in-person event. On the event day (22 May 2020) the ILMP BAA team will distribute the presentation file to the entire mailing list. The ILMP team will collect questions and amend this announcement with a Q&A document. After its initial posting, the Q&A document will not be updated. Any future changes to the BAA will be done via amendment to the BAA synopsis. In order to ensure competitive integrity, the questions and answers will be posted without attribution. Offerors may email questions, from 22 May 2020 to 26 May 2020, to the Technical Points of Contact (TPOC) below. When submitting questions please begin the subject line of the email with FA8750-20-S-7001 Industry Day Question. The team will not immediately respond with the answer to your question. The ILMP tech team will distribute Q&A responses via email on Friday, May 29th. All questions and all answers will be distributed to the same mailing list that registered for the event. Registration for the mailing list is required and can be done at: https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/d96277f7ffa649bba1534b79686764c2 Registration must be submitted no later than COB 21 May 2020 via the above link. Registration submissions using the above link will not be accepted after this date. The Industry Day will be unclassified and open to DoD contractor personnel who are US Citizens only. All prospective recipients may be required to submit a proof of eligibility to Dan Carpenter (ILMP Program Manager), Anissa Lamonica (RIS Division SASM), and Casey Carpenter (RIS Division Alt SASM). For this reason, the team is limiting access to one recipient per CAGE code. Timely responses to the BAA team and the security team are absolutely required to ensure that your registration is processed in time for the virtual industry day event. Note: This announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract, or a commitment of any kind. The Government will not assume liability for costs incurred by any attendee for presentations, marketing efforts or data offered for examination. DESCRIPTION: DoD has invested heavily in automated planners across echelons from tactical planning to operational planning; often these planners fail to perform at a level acceptable to human planning experts, and are usually outperformed by their human counterparts. This program seeks to leverage the perceptual expertise of human planners to augment existing machine planners such that automated planners perform in a way that is acceptable to human planning experts. The meeting is open to all Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. DoD Contractors. All briefs and discussions will be held at the Distribution D level.
