- Regional Procurement Office (RPO) - East intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Motion Control, Inc, 115 Wright Brothers Drive, Salt Lake City, UT, 84116-2838, to purchase quick-disconnect interface devices for the VA Salt Lake Health Care System. The QLIP devices will be used in a funded research study to maximize the functional recovery and the quality of life of US Veterans with limb loss. The following equipment will be purchased: ITEM INFORMATION ITEM NUMBER DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES/SERVICES QUANTITY UNIT 0001 Assembled QLIP Base Unit 10.00 EA 0002 QLIP Torsion Ring, 10 Nm 50.00 EA 0003 QLIP Torsion Ring, 20 Nm 50.00 EA 0004 QLIP Torsion Ring, 30 Nm 50.00 EA 0005 QLIP Breakaway Plate, 20 Nm 50.00 EA 0006 QLIP Breakaway Plate, 40 Nm 50.00 EA 0007 QLIP Breakaway Plate, 60 Nm 50.00 EA 0008 Bushings 60.00 EA The quick-disconnect interface device is required to perform the following essential functions: QLIP devices are required for laboratory performance testing Interface to a hexagonal nut on the end of a percutaneous post of a percutaneous osseointegrated (OI) docking systems (PODS) Release nut interface with a manual rotation ring on the proximal side of the device. Attach to standard prosthetic systems via a pyramid connector on the distal side of the device Provide resettable breakaway in torsion at levels of 10 Nm, 20 Nm, 30 Nm Provide bending release via consumable plates at 20 Nm, 40 Nm, 60 Nm Allow torsion rings and bending plates to be easily swapped in a given device for tuning of patient loading parameters 50 torsion rings and 50 bending plates at each loading level ([50 x 3] + [50 x 3] = 300 total) for laboratory testing of device performance This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
