- Description
- This is a Request for Information (RFI) posted for the purpose of obtaining information and identifying potential sources as part of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division�s (EAD) market research for a future requirement for antenna�s and corresponding cable sets for W/DISS and the National Reconditioning Center (NRC) and to determine if there are vendors that may meet the government�s need as further detailed below. Required Item(s): The National Weather Service (NWS) is seeking to identify sources capable of providing the following: HALF-WAVE DIPOLE, SCALA P/N K552921, BROADBAND 146-174 MHZ, 2 DB GAIN, 450-WATTS INPUT POWER RATING, 50 OHM TYPE ""N"" FEMALE CONNECTOR, W/MOUNTING HARDWARE TO AFFIX ANTENNA TO CUSTOMER SUPPLIED 2.375 TO 4.5 INCH OD PIPE/MAST. This item is available from distributors of SCALA products. (AND/OR) Set of Four (4) 1/2 inch, 50 ohm foam core coax cables; cable must be Commscope FSJ4-50B, HELIAX Superflexible Foam Coaxial Cable, corrugated copper, 1/2 in, black PE jacket or equivalent. (Draka RFF � inch superflex cable is an acceptable equivalent cable to Commscope FSJ4-50B cable.) Each cable in the set of four (4) shall be nominally 11 feet long and terminated with Type-N Male connectors on either end. The cable shall be heat shrinked at each connector end with dual wall/ adhesive lined tubing. All four (4) cables shall be swept with a network analyzer and verified to be phased matched to within 0.7 degrees of each other (1/8 of an inch in length) at a frequency of 162.500 MHz. NWS Certification � Form, Fit, and Function Match: Interested vendors should note that the NWS� W/DISS and NRC have to approve any item being integrated into their systems including the requested item(s) above.
