Synopsis: The US ARMY CECOM is conducting this market survey notice to determine possible sources of supply for Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) modem ��This Market Survey is for information ONLY, and will be used for preliminary planning purposes. NO proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals and NO contract shall be awarded from this survey. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests.� The purpose of this market survey is to locate potential sources to provide the Digit Subscriber Line (DSL) modem for Combat Service Support Automated Information Systems Interface (CAISI) 2.0, NSN 5895-01-625-1976 and nomenclature MODEM, COMMUNICATION.� The DSL Bridge is used when there is no line of sight between antennas. Preferable form/fit is as follows; weight less than 1.5 pounds, maximum height 1.25inches, width 6.75 inches, depth 5.5 inches.� The function must be the same as the current modem, NSN 5895-01-625-1976 The specification for a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Modem which in use, addresses the following requirements. The DSL modem shall be able to transport 10BASE-T (802.3i) Ethernet traffic over 4 miles of Army WF-16 field wire at a minimum rate of about 4Mbps or more in both direction. The DSL shall be capable of full duplex symmetric operation and have a configurable transmission rate of 2048Kbps Two DSL modems shall be able to be connected back to back, requiring no additional concentrator or DSL multiplexer. Each DSL shall have Military grade (MIL Spec A-A-59559) spring loaded binding post for quick secure connection of Army Field Wire. The minimum operating temperature range for the switch shall be 0 - 50 degrees C.� The relative humidity is up to 95% non-condensing and the altitude is between -200 and 13,000 ft (-61 to 3,962m) The RJ45 port shall be auto-sensing (speed and duplex) and auto polarity (MDX & MDIX) Each DSL shall auto sense the connection with a pairing DSL device, negotiate the optimum throughput over the connecting line conditions on the field wire, and provide link light indicator showing the link is established. The DSL shall not allow a third DSL to tap into the communication. The power supply for each DSL device shall support 100 - 240 VAC @ 50/60 Hz auto sensing and auto switching. The power cord should be UL listed with standard NEMA 1-15P or 5-15P connector. All interested potential sources must prepare a response, specifying their ability to provide the Digit Subscriber Line (DSL), as required by the US Government. Provide information on production status and typical lead times.
