Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) South Contract 1 L-67A Structures (S-631, S-632, and S-633), Spoil Removal and L-67C Gap, Miami-Dade County, Florida, Solicitation No. W912EP20R0021 INDUSTRY DAY DATE: ����������� Wednesday, 20 May 2020 TIME:������������� 1:00pm Eastern Time LOCATION:��� WebEx Presentation (A Slide show will be posted via amendment).� All interested parties must contact Mr. Joseph Sherwood at Joseph.D.Sherwood@usace.army.mil & Mr. James Tracy at James.T.Tracy@usace.army.mil no later than the 18th of May 2020 by 4:00pm EST in order to receive the link to access the industry day presentation. ��Failure to contact Mr. Sherwood & Mr. Tracy on the above dates may result in your inability to attend the Industry Day for the CEPP 1 requirement.� All interested Offerors are required to access BetaSam.gov for future updates. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:� The Scope of Work for this project includes the construction of the following four project features: (A) Install three (3) proposed L 67 A levee structures; S-631, S-632, and S-633.� Each structure location will have two (2) 6� x 6� gated box culverts equipped with dewatering apparatus features.� Each box culvert will have a vertical lift gate that can be operated remotely.� Power for the lift gates will be provide by an on-site propane generator housed in a concrete building. (B) Removal of the existing spoil islands directly to the northwest of the proposed S-631 and S-632 structure locations on the opposite site of the L-67A canal. (C) Excavate a 3000� gap within the L-67 C levee to convey water from WCA 3A to WCA 3B; (D) Backfill the existing east-west agricultural ditch between the L 67 A and L 67 C levees.� Backfill material will be generated on site by using the east-west agricultural ditch spoil pile located on the north side of the ditch.� In addition, material from excavating the 3000� gap and spoil islands are other sources of backfill material. Any excess excavated material will be disposed of by filling in a portion of the L-67A Extension canal.� Refer to the attached draft plan sheets for orientation of the project features. Location of Project The CEPP Contract 1 project is located in western Miami-Dade County, between WCA-3A and WCA-3B, west of C-111, north of the Tamiami Trail (US-41). �See the attached draft plans for location and vicinity maps. Specific Project Challenges The structures S-631, S-632, and S-633 are proposed to be constructed on the existing L-67A levee with the project, with a limited vehicular access for materials, equipment, or labor. The construction access to the project site will be from US�Highway 41 (Tamiami Trail) by S-333 along L-67A and L-67C levees. The northern access is from S-9 Pump Station or by Everglades Holiday Park along the L-67A Canal. The contractor will be required to access the west side of the L-67A canal, adjacent to S-631 and S-632, to remove existing spoil islands on the west side of the canal. Access and removal of the spoil material will require working from a barge on the L-67A canal�s western edge of water. The contractor will also be required to fill an existing agricultural ditch that travels east west between the L-67A and L-67C. Environmental Conditions Contractor is required to remain within the construction limits in order to minimize wetland impacts. Plans and Specifications Attached are Draft Plans of�this project for industry consumption prior to Industry Day.� �Draft specifications may be added to this posting on a later date.
