- The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to procure the repair of Motor Vessel (MV) Moline transmission on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Service Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.� Motor Vessel (MV) Moline is utilized in critical dredging operations in support of the Mississippi River Project Office to maintain Mississippi River channel maintenance within the District. As such, the Twin Disc Marine Transmissions are in need of dire service to repair the unit to operational readiness in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer specifications. The repair includes, but is not limited to, disassembly of unit, inspection of all components and rebuild to OEM specifications and test upon completion. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to enter into a firm, fixed-price contract with Palmer Johnson Power Systems of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. The NAICS code for this procurement is 811310 with a size standard not to exceed $8,000,000.00 THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any small-business firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
