- Description
- DESCRIPTION: The goal of our research is to develop a measurement test suite for quantum network component and protocol testing, verification and characterization. Such a test suite will be implemented on the NIST campus along with a fiber network dedicated to quantum optical signal transfer between various quantum network nodes. To be able to perform most state-of-the art measurements of most state-of-the art single photon devices, such as detectors and sources, we need a dedicated time tagging unit that allows determination of a single photons arrival time. This time tagging unit will allow us to characterize afterpulsing, dark noise and source response times. NIST is seeking a product that meets the following required specifications for the requested time tagger: Fully self-contained and powered time tagging unit, i.e. includes power supply or is powered through USB At least 8 input channels with each channel having a maximum of 80 ps jitter full-width half-maximum (FWHM) A channel deadtime of less than 10 ns No crosstalk between channels Low (<10-4) bin-width variation A full software development kit with programming examples for implementation into Matlab, Python, Labview, etc. Lifetime Firmware and software upgrades included System must be able to run in a Matlab, LabView and Pyhton environment. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. ****** A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****Interested parties that believe they could satisfy the requirements listed above for NIST may clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Any questions regarding this notice must be submitted in writing via email to Brian Jamieson at Brian.Jamieson@nist.gov. All responses to this sources sought notice must be submitted so that they are received at Brian.Jamieson@nist.gov no later than June 5, 2020 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time.
