- Description
- The purpose of this special notice is to 1) share a Draft Statement of Work (SOW) and 2) find vendors interested in the requirement. A version of this requirement was previously solicited, and canceled, under RFP1332KP19RNEEG0001. Interested and capable vendors should send an email to maryann.orellana@noaa.gov and cc: jason.zick@noaa.gov. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Office of Satellite Ground Services (OSGS) mission is to sustain current NESDIS capabilities, to enable future capabilities, and to create an integrated ground enterprise. Satellite data acquisition from the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) and next generation weather imagery from the GOES-R series are mission critical NESDIS capabilities. DSCOVR is NESDIS primary real-time solar storm warning system at LaGrange Point 1(L1) and monitors magnetic plasma emanating from the Sun. This data is provided as a real-time data stream to the NESDIS National Weather Service (NWS) customer, the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). The data is used by SWPC to produce space weather forecasts, watches, warnings, and alerts. The GOES-R Series provides advanced imagery and atmospheric measurements of Earths weather, oceans and environment, real-time mapping of total lightning activity, and improved monitoring of solar activity and space weather. NESDIS Wallops Command and Data Acquisition Station (WCDAS) is the primary facility for DSCOVR and GOES-R Telemetry, Tracking, & Commanding (TT&C) capabilities. NESDIS has identified the WCDAS 16.4 meter (m) Hurricane Rated (HR) antennas HR1 and HR2 to serve as the primary antenna for DSCOVR and primary/back up for Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite R series (GOES-R) satellites. The HR1 and HR2 antennas require feed modifications to enable optimal long-term support to the DSCOVR and GOES-R missions while retaining coverage of the legacy GOES O/P missions. The project scope for the HR1 and HR2 antennas shall have the Contractor Execute digital photogrammetry Perform physical optimization of the parabolic reflector Redesign the existing HR1 and HR2 feed Replace specified Antenna RF System Components Conduct Site Acceptance Testing Provide Site Training and Documentation The Contractor shall perform the above-mentioned scope of work to optimize the HR1 and HR2 antennas to support DSCOVR, GOES-R and GOES O/P mission requirements as specified in this SOW.
