Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. SOURCES SOUGHT DESCRIPTION: This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought/RFI only. The purpose of this sources sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS codes 622110 or (related). Responses to this source sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this source sought, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this source sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 22 Network Contracting Office, is seeking sources that can supply the San Diego VA Healthcare System with Airseal IFS and IFS Carts W/ Valve. The VHASD Operating Department has a need for an insufflation system to support their ability to perform advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. The world s first 3 in 1 insufflation management system, which has been approved by the FDA for use in thoracic surgery. The insufflation management system consists of proprietary access port and tubing set to be used in laparoscopic and robotic surgery that provides unmatched capabilities in providing pneumoperitoneum, constant smoke evacuation, and valve free access. The equipment will interface with equipment currently standardized and in service. AirSeal iFS System is intended for use in diagnostic and/or therapeutic endoscopic procedures to distend a cavity by filling it with gas, to establish and maintain a path of entry for endoscopic instruments and to evacuate surgical smoke. It is indicated to facilitate the use of various thoracoscopic and laparoscopic instruments by filling the abdominal or thoracic cavity with gas to distend it, by creating and maintaining a gas sealed obstruction-free instrument path and by evacuating surgical smoke. This instrument can also be used to insufflate the rectum and colon to facilitate endoscopic observation, diagnosis and treatment. The trocar of the AirSeal iFS System is indicated for use with or without visualization.
