- Description
- 36C24820Q0800 NF/SG VHS Regulated Medical Waste Services Amendment 0001 - Responses to Vendor Questions Are the sites providing their own sharps containers for the medical waste and trace chemo waste? RESPONSE: Yes Would the sites that are currently using the 38 cubic yard containers be open to using another container such as a Mobile Mini to place their waste into. RESPONSE: In accordance with 52.212-1 Instructions to Quotes, quoters are encouraged to submit multiple quotations presenting alternative approaches terms and conditions or commercial items for satisfying the requirements of this solicitation. Each quotation submitted will be evaluated separately. This applies to alternative technical approaches as well. Would the Tallahassee and Lake City locations be willing to switch from RBX's to 95-gallon containers? RESPONSE: Tallahassee already has 95-gallon containers. The incumbent vendor is collecting the weekly pick-up weights for Lake City to see how that might change. Tallahassee has 95-gallon containers. Lake City will remain a roll-off. Additionally, see response to #2 regarding multiple quotes. For the Malcom Randal VAMC located at 1601 SW Archer Rd. Gainesville, FL. 32608 location, would this location be open to pulls on the 38 cubic yard container on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday? Or even twice a week service frequency? RESPONSE: This is possible as long as it doesn t interfere with traffic. Additionally, see response to #2 regarding multiple quotes. Would locations that are using the 96-gallon containers be open to using medical waste boxes for a receptacle to collect medical waste? RESPONSE: This may be possible. Additionally, see response to #2 regarding multiple quotes. Are the 38 cubic yard containers containing any waste needing to be incinerated? RESPONSE: No What is the breakdown for each location for waste such as trace chemo or pathological waste? RESPONSE: Gainesville has 200-260 chemo boxes per month. Lake City has 10-15 chemo boxes per month. Could the trace chemo monthly volumes be provided at the 1601 SW Archer Rd. Gainesville, FL. 32608 location? RESPONSE: See response to #7. Are the cases of bio-hazard bags for the 22-gallon boxes and 96-gallon containers? If so, could you provide the manufacturer numbers for those bags to ensure we fulfill the agreement requirements. RESPONSE: Yes. Per VA Infectious Disease Control, the vendor-supplied containers must be either doubled bagged with 1.5 m red bags or single bagged with 3 m. Vendors may use the bags of their choosing, provided they meet this requirement. Additionally, see response to #2 regarding multiple quotes. Who is the current vendor servicing the medical waste at the site? RESPONSE: This requirement is currently split between 2 vendors: Reg Products, LLC and NEIE Medical Waste Services, LLC.
