Description
The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, contractor transportation, tools, materials, supervision, other items and services�necessary to perform the EMT-P and FP-C Course for the Womack Army Medical Center as defined in this Performance Work Statement except for those items specified as government-furnished property and services. The contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract. The Womack Army Medical Center�s Soldiers often deploy to support unique missions in isolated and/or austere environments with no military support. The team medics are the sole provider of medical care for the soldiers on their teams. They must be able to provide medical treatment for an up to 72 hours without any direct supervision or assistance. The Army's Initial Entry Medical Training is not sufficient to provide the skills to fulfill this requirement. The Army currently does not have a paramedic course to train non-aviation soldiers.��Train and graduate up to 180 fully-qualified National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Basic and up to 480 National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedics and critical care paramedics per year. The purpose of training certification is to teach up to 660 individuals on the clinical and technical skills necessary to sustain and treat patients by providing emergency care during deployments.��Scope of Work EMT-B: The contractor shall provide an EMT-B certification course consisting of no more than 22 days. All courses will have administration of the NREMT-B psychomotor examination, and remediation sessions for student failure.��The contractor shall provide qualified personnel, services, materials, equipment, supplies and facilities necessary to conduct a fully accredited EMT-B training program for no greater than 30 students per course selected by the US Army for enrollment.� The EMT-B courses shall be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The NREMT recognizes graduates of CAAHEP acredited programs as well as graduates of programs holding a CoAEMSP LoR, as eligible for the national EMT-P certification examinations.��The EMT-B courses will be conducted 6 days a week, which includes the didactic and total 24 hours clinical ration requirements for the course. The daily course schedule may be broken down in a manner to facilitate clinical rotation hours.�� The EMT-B course vendor will provide malpractice insurance, 1 uniform shirt, BLS certification, a registry preparation exam, National Registry Practical Skills exam, and 1 attempt at the NR Computer Based EMT-B exam.��The contractor shall provide qualified personnel, facilities, services, materials, equipment and testing capability to conduct the didactic portion of the EMT-B examination, and shall facilitate the execution of the remainder of the exam to include the psychomotor testing and computer-based testing.� The course curriculum shall be in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).� The contractor shall comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.�
