Description
GROSSING STATION Requirement Summary VA White River Junction, VT. requires replacement of a grossing station for histology. An elevating grossing station with additional knee space is required for ergonomic and staff safety as the table can be adjusted to accommodate varying heights of pathology staff to reduce back strain. Grossing stations provide a workspace for specimen preparation and are used to measure, wash, dissect, and magnify the view of the specimen while dictating notes and filtering fumes. Gross examination or ""grossing"" is the process by which pathology specimens are inspected with the ""bare eye"" to obtain diagnostic information, while being processed for further microscopic examination. Statement of Work (SOW) New unit provide and ship to VA WRJ, move, connect, install, assemble, level, test for working order, clean, provide staff training, warrantee. Provide all needed personnel and rigging as applicable. Work required as follows: 1) Move new unit from 1st floor - warehouse storage location, to 2nd floor lab - installation location (see ** as noted below) 2) assemble, set-up, level as needed 3) make all unit connections to include (electrical, venting, water supply, and wastewater), 4) certify proper connections made to include (electrical, venting, water supply, and wastewater), 5) certify unit to be in accordance with manufacturer installation and operation specifications 6) clean unit to prepare for use as needed 7) provide user training, if/as applicable and or manufacturer user equipment literature 8) all work to occur and be complete over (1) one weekend, during weekend lab-off-hour-shifts (see *** as noted below), (Shawn McNamara, C.O.R., and Sue Webber, Lab Manager, to coordinate work schedule date and time) *VA White River Junction will be responsible to decontaminate, disconnect, remove, move, and disposal of existing grossing station, and prepare area for installation of new unit. ** VA WRJ FMS (facility management service) staff upon request, may/will provide assistance to vendor with relocation of new grossing station from, 1st floor - warehouse storage location, to 2nd floor lab - installation location. Elevator will be used to move unit from 1st to 2nd floor. *** Weekend Off hour installation required vendor must be flexible and able to coordinate and work weekend off hours to accommodate lab service operations and to complete in full: unit relocation, assembly, installation, unit connections, unit operation to manufacturer specification(s), and training, as weekend project completion is crucial to lab service operations, patient care and medical center requirements. Installation to be scheduled based on coordinated date. Anticipated installation to occur on Sunday with work to begin 7 am 5pm. Time frame provided as estimate. Dates, and times subject to change. All installation work must be fully completed prior to start of Monday 7am lab operations. Foot operated faucet control for hot and cold water 5. Spray hose assembly with hand control 6. Heavy duty waste disposer, 1/2 hp and switch 7. Dissecting area rinse to provide a constant flow of water below the work area 8. Top mounted LED light fixture. Stainless C-fold paper towel holder 9. Magnetic instrument holder. Polyethylene dissecting board (Photo Blue} 10. GFCI duplex receptacle w/waterproof cover Articulating camera Mount 11. Articulating Camera Mount 12. Splash Shield 13. Monitor and Keyboard Stand-Premium 14. Formalin Dispenser and Collection Systems contained 15. Vented Trash Container Specifications 1. Height adjustability to allow worker to work at unit sitting with feet on floor or standing. 2. Added knee space to allow for comfortable workspace when sitting. 3. Adjustable computer monitors and keyboard to all for good visibility and ergonomic positioning. 4. Foot pedal controls for water to allow for turning on and off water while freeing hands to handle specimens. 5. Hand spray rinse with long hose that allows easy and controlled rinsing or work area. 6. Formalin collection system at the work area to facilitate fume-free collection and easier disposal. Alarmed, if possible, to alert user the formalin collection system is nearing capacity. 7. Backdraft ventilation to safely remove formaldehyde fumes that could connect to in-house ventilation. 8. Sink with running water. 9. Electrical receptacle with waterproof cover and GCFI.
