Description
The purpose of the Leica STED acquisition will allow NIAMS scientists to perform super-resolution microscopy to satisfy the experimental needs not fulfilled by conventional microscopy. This will be an important step for the Light Imaging Section and will surely guarantee NIAMS scientists the possibility to keep a consistent, high level of competitiveness for their experimental work in terms of microscopy data. The Leica TCS SP8 X confocal microscope is recognized by experienced microscopists as the best confocal microscope available so, implementing this machine with STED appears to be the most obvious consequence. NIAMS had the opportunity to test this device on several occasions and determined that the Leica STED is the best way to fulfill the constantly increasing imaging demands of NIAMS scientists.
