The Transgenic Marmoset Core Imaging Facility (TMC-IF) at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) requires two magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) detectors (referred to as receive arrays) to improve MRI of common marmosets brain. These two receive arrays will be used for whole-brain imaging of anesthetized and awake marmosets, respectively. They are expected to get better MRI performance over the basal brain areas and to achieve higher MRI acceleration than current receive arrays, which will benefit all projects using TMC-IF. The proposed design of the receive arrays must be compatible with NINDS 7T/30cm magnet interfaced with Bruker AV3 console. Must be designed for small animal imaging and for the common marmoset. The coil former must fit into our unique gradient insert with an ID of 165mm and a transmit coil with an ID of 134mm. The head holders must enable securely holding either an anesthetized marmoset with an intubation tube and optional a face mask or an awake marmoset with headposts or a helmet. Should be able to use up to 16 channels to detect the MRI signal arranged in a way that will optimize the sensitivity over the whole marmoset brain without sacrificing basal brain areas. Must have parallel imaging ability. Must have ability for upgrades to be compatible with Brukers newer generation of console (AV Neo or later). Capability statement /information sought.
