- Description
- In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.201(b), ""For acquisitions of supplies and services other than those covered by the exceptions in 5.202 and the special situations in 5.205, the Contracting Officer must transmit a notice to the Government wide Point of Entry (GPE) for each proposed contract action meeting the threshold in 5.101(a)(i)."" The U.S. Army Contracting Command-New Jersey, on behalf of PM Soldier Weapons, intends to solicit, negotiate and award a sole source contract for Mossberg 500 Shotgun to O. F. Mossberg & Sons, pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Government intends to award an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with Firm Fixed Price Delivery Orders to O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc., North Haven, CT. The Government anticipates requiring up to 12,766 Mossberg 500 shotguns (M500) and 384 spare parts kits with the contract minimum guarantee of 1000 shotguns. This contract is intended to deliver s to satisfy Navy and Army requirements as the need develops. The requirement�is�for the M500 MCS 12 Gauge Shotgun, Riot Type, in a 17� and 20� barrel configurations and a limited number of spare parts kits. Barrel wall thickness is standard for the 20"" and heavy for the 17"". Takedown system is takedown screw for the 20"" and cleanout tibe for the 17"". The Mag capcity +1 is 6 for both barrel sizes. The length-of-pull is reduced for both barrel sizes. The receiver mount interface is standard for the 20"" and MIL-STD-1913 for the 17"". The forestock interface is standard for the 20"" and�Tri-rail MIL-STD-1913 for the 17"". The trigger guard ansd safety is aluminum for both barrel sizes. Heat Shield and bayonet lug is none for both barrel sizes. The sling is included for both barrel sizes.� The NAICS code for this requirement is 332994 with the size standard of 1,000 employees. Please note this notice DOES NOT constitute a Request for Proposal. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Solicitation release is anticipated to be 10 July 2020.
