- INTRODUCTION The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Requirements and Capabilities Analysis (RCA) is conducting market research to determine interest, capability, and socio-economic category of potential sources of supply of universal bin/tray for checkpoint CT scanning systems. This is not a solicitation for proposals or quotations. The purpose of this notice is�to obtain market research information regarding: (1) companies capable of supplying products that meet the specification; (2) price and cost information, (3) company size status, whether small businesses; HUBZone; service-disabled veteran-owned, woman-owned, 8(a), etc.; and (4) size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for a proposed acquisition. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. BACKGROUND The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is increasing the utilization Computed Tomographic (CT) Systems for the screening of passengers� divested accessible property for weapons and prohibited items, particularly explosives at screening checkpoints. To assist in the screening of passengers� belongings through the checkpoint, TSA has acquired screening bins (also known as trays) for use at the checkpoints to allow for passage of passengers� belongings to include carryon bags, lose items such as shoes, laptops, loose articles of clothing, and other items that are not placed in carryon bags.� TSA is seeking vendors who can supply commercially available bins (minor modifications may be required) that meet the specifications outlined herein. RESPONSE INFORMATION In order for the TSA to improve its understanding of market capabilities and identify qualified vendors that are capable of providing the bin/tray, a Contractor's Capabilities Statement is requested. This statement must identify your company's capabilities to supply items meeting the specification below to include (1) a full description of your product including any commercial marketing material such as brochures; (2) commercial pricing or a ROM cost estimate for the bin/tray that meets the specifications, including volume/tiered pricing in increments such as 100, 1,000 and 10,000 units; (3) company name, DUNS Number, company POC, mailing address and phone number; and (4) current business size (i.e., small business, 8(a), woman owned, veteran owned, etc.). The capabilities statement shall not exceed seven (7) pages in length and shall be in either PDF or MS Word Format.
