Description
Integration and Evaluation of the OSHA 10-hour Training in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum in the Miami-Dade County Public School System. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP)\National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)\Division of Science Integration (DSI)\Social Science and Translation Research Branch (SSTRB)\Cincinnati, Ohio, intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to: The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida for the support of the NIOSH interventions and evaluation project to integrate an updated OSHA 10-hour training curriculum. This includes facilitating the recruitment and training of teachers to become OSHA-authorized instructors. These teachers shall then deliver the updated OSHA 10-hour general industry training to their students enabling them to earn an OSHA 10-hour card, supporting the research being conducted by NIOSH. The Miami Dade County Public School System previously supported a NIOSH demonstration and evaluation project to integrate a NIOSH workplace safety and health curriculum by facilitating the training of teachers in the use of this curriculum, providing foundational workplace safety and health skills of the demonstration and evaluation project conducted by NIOSH. It would not be feasible to identify another school district large enough to be able to provide access to the minimum number of qualified health science teachers to support this study design.
