Description
Source Sought Notice Intent The intent of this Source Sought Notice document is to obtain multiple sources for the design and construction of a �fire water tank to be built at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS).� The NNSS is a U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) installation, operated by Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) The following known water tank design types plus any other types not listed will be considered. Welded Carbon Steel Epoxy Coated Tanks Glass-Fused-to-Steel (Glass-Lined-Steel) Tanks Bolted Steel Lined Tanks Fiberglass Tanks Scope of Work Design, fabricate and erect a ground-supported fire water storage tank in accordance with NFPA 22, AWWA D100, and Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 445A, �Water Controls.� The fire water storage tank shall have a capacity not less than 250,000-gallons.� Scope of work includes design and installation of the water tank, tank foundation, tank level monitoring and control sensor (s), temperature sensor(s), lightning protection, cathodic protection (if required by tank design type), and limited pipe and accessories needed to fill from an existing waterline or via a tanker truck and provide a source of water to a fire truck.� It includes all necessary engineering design, site investigation, earthwork, materials, equipment, labor, and startup support for the project. The tank shall be designed to facilitate internal inspection and maintenance as needed.� Further, the tank shall be designed to minimize inspection and maintenance needs. The water tank and tank piping shall meet applicable codes, standards,DOE, state and local requirements to be identified in the Request for Proposal.� Project Site The tank will be located at NNSS, in Nye County, on Federal land controlled by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).� Mercury, Nevada is located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada.� The project site at U1a Complex is located approximately 38 miles north of Mercury, Nevada, and approximately 2,038 feet west of Mercury Highway.� The approximate mean sea level (MSL) base elevation of the U1a Fire Water Tank is 4,007.5 feet.� Response to the Sources Sought Notice Interested Parties are requested to respond with the following information: Company profile clearly indicating experience in designing and building fire water storage tank of the nature indicated herein. State Socio-economic status (large or small business, and if small business, state category (woman-owned, veteran owned, etc.) Currently program is open to all business sizes. Potential set-aside will be determined at later date. Any design or construction challenges that might reasonably be encountered and a notional mitigation approach.
