Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Rock Island (ACC-RI), Rock Island, IL on behalf of the Product Director Demilitarization, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, and Joint Munitions Command (JMC) Rock Island, IL is issuing this sources sought announcement in an effort to identify capable sources that possess the capabilities, experience, and expertise necessary for fabrication of Ammunition Peculiar Equipment (APE) 1997, Downdraft Inspection Table for Fiscal Years 2021-2025. The anticipated yearly production is 5 units per year for 5 years with a maximum of 25 units. The APE 1997 Down Draft Inspection Tables are constructed so live or spent ammunition can be dumped onto the un-vented shelf of the table (ammunition containers may have water/snow present). Water passes through the perforated tabletop and is collected in a plastic waste container. Live or spent ammunition can then be manually spread on the inclined vibratory feed table and automatically fed to the bottom chute at a rate of one round per second. All live or spent ammunition rounds are inspected for foreign objects, debris or dirt. Any dust or small debris from this process will be drawn into the collection unit. The overall benefit of this technology is to serve as a vibratory sorter table capable of down-drafting containments away from worker's breathing zones without hindering work processes. This technology is requested by various Ammunition Supply Points (ASPs) to improve daily ammunition processes while mitigating safety concerns associated with handling of ammunition.
