Contracting Office Address: United States Coast Guard (USCG)� Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) Engineering Services Division (ESD) Procurement Building 78 1664 Weeksville Road Elizabeth City, NC 27909 Description This is a sources sought only, not a solicitation announcement.� This is NOT a request for proposals or quotes and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract.� The USCG is conducting market research to seek sources that can provide a solution for USCG pilots and aircrew biological respiratory protection against airborne pathogens comparable to COVID-19. The USCG requires a responsible company that can provide an aviation face covering that provides protection against COVID-19 and similar illnesses, which offers a technologically and medically advanced, low profile, lightweight solution for all USCG aviators.� The USCG is seeking aviation respiratory protection that meets the requirements outlined in Attachment (1). Responses Responses to this notice should include company name, address, telephone number, and point of contact (POC).� Please respond to the following questions: Describe your product�s specifications and how it is capable of performing the required tasks. � Describe what changes you would need to make in your product to meet our desired needs as per attachment (1). � Please indicate an estimate of how long of a lead time would your company need to facilitate the development of your submission to meet our needs. � What NAICS code does your company use for this type of service? � Is your business a large or small business? � If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emergent business, or a small, disadvantaged business? � �If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and is your firm certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? � �Is your firm a certified ""hub zone"" firm? � �Is your firm a woman-owned or operated business? � Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned? � Is your product listed on a GSA schedule? � Do you have other government agencies using the product, and if so which agencies, POC's and contract numbers? � If possible, any POC's for civilian users for general usage of product questions.���� After the review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, and if the USCG still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published on the Federal Business Opportunity website. �Responses to this sources sought are not adequate response to any future solicitation announcement. �All interested offers will have to respond to the solicitation in addition to responding to this sources sought synopsis. �Responses to this sources sought synopsis are NOT a request to be added to a prospective offers list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. Responses may also be mailed to the following address: USCG ALC 1664 Weeksville Road ESD Building 78, 70Z03820IE0000006 Attn: Christy McKethan Elizabeth City, NC 27909 ATTACHMENT (1) �REQUIREMENTS FOR USCG AVIATION BIOLOGICAL RESPIRATORY PROTECTION �The following are considered the key requirements when determining the appropriate respiratory protection. �The Aviation Biological Respiratory Protection shall: Be compatible with existing USCG Aaviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) to include helmets, headsets, and eye protection, while maintaining current communication capabilities. USCG currently utilize the following helmets:� Team Wendy Exfil, Gentex HGU-56P, and Gentex SOHAH. USCG aviation headsets vary and are of a common aviation design.� � Allow for successful execution of aircrew duties. Quick attachment/donning of filtration system must be met to allow the performance continued operations in an environment of potential airborne pathogens. Quick removal of filtration system due to in-flight emergency procedure is also required. This capability should also include quick release options for the immediate removal of the respirator to allow for supplemental air and/or oxygen during emergency decompression or evacuation of aircraft. � Device must perform at same level of filtration capabilities equivalent to an N95 respirator. � Construction should allow for performance at higher levels of airborne contamination filtration devices such as N99, P95, etc.
