- Description
- In accordance with DFARS PGI 206.302-1, the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, MD is posting a sources sought notice for the depot repair of T56 Series 427A Power Sections, Reduction Gear Assemblies, and Torquemeters. The Contractor shall provide facilities, labor, test equipment and material, as required, to return items to a Ready for Issue (RFI) condition. The Contractor shall repair or replace out of limit parts or components regardless of the cause of the out of limit condition. Additionally, the Contractor shall be responsible for forecasting all material requirements. This requirement will be an indefinite delivery requirements type contract with a base year and one-year option that is estimated to run from May 2021 through May 2023. Currently, Rolls-Royce Corporation (RRC) is the only known responsible source that can return the engine to a RFI material condition, as RRC is the only source that possesses the tooling required for this effort. NAVAIR intends to prepare a Justification and Approval (J&A) for Other Than Full and Open Competition, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, ""Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements,"" to RRC. The Product Service Code (PSC) for this requirement is J028. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 336412. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award, or be responsible for any money expended by interested parties before award of a contract for the effort described above. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for or award a contract.
