- This Special Notice is for INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY and shall not be considered as an invitation for bid, request for quotation, request for proposal, or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise because of contractor participation in this industry informational event. This announcement constitutes a request for information (RFI) notice for planning purposes. The selected NAICS Code is suggested only. Interested vendors may propose alternate NAICS based on the applicable technology area. Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM), in response to the need to adjust to new procedures in a COVID19 environment, is conducting an industry assessment of the ability to measure elevated skin temperature of individuals entering facilities on Marine Corp Installations.� A vendor demonstration and assessment of the FLIR A700 system capabilities is underway.� This assessment will test a critical and urgent capability needed to protect the lives of installation tenants and families which is the temperature screening of personnel upon entry to a facility. Per guidance provided by the CDC, those who have fever (100.4 F or above) or other signs of illness under the 42 Code of Federal Regulations parts 70/71 Final Rule, should not be admitted to the facility in efforts to mitigate the risk of potential COVID-19 resurgence. This assessment will be to test the below critical operational issues. Critical Operational Issues that Have Been Identified: The screening process � for those being screened � is easy to use. The screening process � for those conducting the screening � is easy to use. The technology detects �warm� bodies (above 100.4 F) more accurately than through a manual screening process. Use of the capability cost as compared to sustaining a manual screening process. Use of the capability results in reduced time spent �by those conducting screenings � for the screening process. Submission process and due date: Interested vendors with alternative solutions to meeting the critical operational issues identified above should provide a marketing brochure only of the technology they would like showcased. If your technology is of interest, the Government POC will contact you with an invitation to participate. All companies will be notified of invitation/non-invitation decisions by 30 Nov 2020. � NOTE: This RFI is issued for the purpose of determining market capability of sources and does not constitute an Invitation for Bid (IFB), a Request for Proposal (RFP), a Request for Quote (RFQ) or an indication that the Government will contract for any of the items and/or services contained in this notice. No solicitation document exists at this time. All information received in response to this notice that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly.
