This is a combined Synopsis/solicitation for the United States �Department of Agriculture, �Agriculture Re search Service, �prepared in accordance with the format to Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this solicitation. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotes are being requested and a written notice, will not be issued. Solicitation Number �1009176 - is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This solicitation �document �incorporates �provisions and �clauses which are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2020-08 dated August 13, 2020.� �This solicitation shall be reserved exclusively for small businesses� with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees - referencing North American Industrial Classification Code 334516. �� �SHIP TO ADDRESS � 600 E. To support research in food safety, the system can be used to prepare samples of food, or bacteria culture for a variety of molecular and microbiology studies.� The system adds a degree of automation and standardization which can increase the throughput while also improving the reliability and repeatability of experimental protocols.� Further, the system uses disposable cartridges which eliminates the need for decontamination, cleaning and sterilizing of re-useable equipment. Therefore, the preparation and clean-up time for a harvest is greatly reduced.� Further as the sample processing occurs within a sterile and closed system, the level of safety for handling pathogens.� The system is required to be purchased with the brand name Miltenyi Biotech to ensure it is compatible with commercial MACS� Tissue Dissociation Kits.� These consumable kits are designed and optimized for use in the gentleMACS system.� There are a broad range of kits available for separating bacteria from various animal tissues and undergo sufficient quality control standards.�� Features: Multiple processing options to support sample preparation for both screening diagnostics and molecular characterization of microorganisms in food� The system can separate bacteria from tissue (plant or animal based food matrices) while ensuring bacteria cell viability and conservation/preservation of epitopes.� The system can homogenize Gram negative, Gram positive bacteria and virus samples for extraction and isolation of organelles, proteins and DNA/RNA.� The base controller contains pre-defined programs and offers the flexibility to accommodate custom automated protocols. Bidirectional rotation (spin clockwise and counter clockwise) Control the rate of increase/decrease of rotation speed Rotate from�20-6000 RPM Multiple samples can be run simultaneously: each with the same or a unique program sequence.� The instrument can include integrated heaters to facilitate enzymatic incubation The temperature setting can be controlled to specified ranges at different process cycles.
