- Description
- The GITM ECP contract holders currently provide approved and vetted enterprise converged solutions, and any associated software/licenses and warranties to DOS networking environment. The GITM program, along with other DOS offices, has an ongoing, repetitive need for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and other IT hardware that meets its core technical specifications. GITM serves more than 300 locations both domestically and overseas. These sites operate multiple data networks comprised of a myriad of IT hardware, including the ECP, which is a core IT requirement. A brief extension until 9/30/2020 is needed in order to continue to provide access to these solutions integral to the Department's IT infrastructure. The GITM ECP IDIQ contract holders are uniquely qualified to provide the approved commercial infrastructure products, software/licenses, and associated warranties to GITM and the Department as a whole. Failure to retain the incumbent contracts through the competitive solicitation process would create potential harm to government operations due to the following: a. The incumbents currently provide approve commercial products that have been tested accordingly for compatibility to the Departments networks. Allowing the current contracts to end creates risk for items to be procured outside of the program that may introduce various threats to the Departments network. The need to vet and test new equipment outside of the current contracts scope may create significant time delays in providing these products, even in mission critical situations. b. The incumbents currently provide equipment compatible with existing approved commercial products on Department networks. IT infrastructure products and associated technology purchased outside of the program to service the Departments network environment may not establish successful relationships with existing equipment and create increased life cycle costs for replacing faulty or un-useable items. AQM is actively working to establish a new solution that will streamline requirements within the scope of the current IDIQs.
