Description

Red River Army Depot (RRAD), Texarkana, TX, intends to award a multiyear single source commercial contract for new manufactured Steel Split Wheel/Rim Assembly�in support for the Tire/Wheel Assembly for the Husky VMMD. Contract is for an estimated 3,000 ea. Wheels. This solicitation and negotiations is to be conducted with Hutchinson Industries Inc. and Titan Wheel Corporation of Illinois as the only company�s currently authorized to manufacture the Wheels for the Husky VMMD. The impending award has an approved Justification and Approval for�limited�sources of supply. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements per FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(B): Unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency�s requirements. The solicitation is prepared on a Standard Form (SF)1449, and it can be made available upon request with the Technical Data Package. Any capability statement may be submitted for future procurements.
