Description
I. SUMMARY On behalf of the Support Ships, Boats, and Craft Program Office (PMS325), the Naval Sea Systems Command announces an Industry Day for the Yard, Repair, Berthing and Messing Barge - (YRBM) program. The Industry Day will be held on October 13, 2020 from 1300-1600 EDT.� This will be a virtual event, hosted on the internet, using Microsoft Teams.� Please note:� Companies will be able to participate without a Microsoft Teams account. The objective is to provide a presentation to inform the industry community of the program�s schedule and contract requirements. The Program Office intends to procure up to twenty-six YRBM craft over fifteen years to accommodate the fleet�s berthing needs.� The first contract is anticipated to be a Small Business Set Aside Contract.� YRBM craft will be non-self-propelled and will be employed as a moored, floating facility, capable of providing berthing for 199 personnel, messing for 300 personnel, and work and living space support for these personnel.� During periods of temporary storage, no services are provided.� Compartmentalization and layout must support a dual-gender crew. The YRBM craft will be built to commercial standards and ABS would be expected to class the YRBM craft as an A1 Accommodation Barge, Harbor Service. The craft will contain the following notional compartment types:� Commanding Officer (CO) and Executive Officer (XO) Berthing, Officer Berthing, Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Berthing, Enlisted Berthing, Washrooms/Water Closets, Galley, Walk-In Refrigerator, Walk-In Freezer, Galley Storeroom, Dry Provision Storeroom, Scullery, Enlisted Mess, CPO Mess, Officer Mess, General Administrative Support Offices, Post Office, Classrooms, Recreation/Lounge Facilities, Medical Facility (consisting of one Medical Examining Room and one Medical Officer Office), Ship�s Store, Quarterdeck, Cleaning Gear Rooms, Electrical Services Support Room, Local Area Network/Computer Equipment Room, Command Master Chief Office, Supply Department Storeroom, Self-Service Laundry, Industrial Laundry, Linen Issue Room, Collective Holding Tank (CHT) Pump Room, Fan Rooms, Equipment Rooms, and Boatswain Storage, Electrical power, sewage discharge, potable water, and fire main will be supplied via shore connections. Notional dimensions of the craft will be approximately 150-180 ft length, 50 ft beam, and 12 ft hull depth. The craft hull and superstructure will be constructed of welded steel and the design service life of the craft will be a minimum of 40 years. II. DATE, LOCATION, AGENDA, REGISTRATION, LOGISTICS WHEN:�October 13, 2020, 1300 to 1600 EDT. WHERE:� Virtually over the internet using the Microsoft Teams platform WHAT:� The overall objective of this Industry Day is to provide industry and interested parties with information that will assist in the understanding of current technical requirements and projected near term schedule for a potential YRBM solicitation, and to gain feedback from industry on the overall contract requirements.� The Government will use this event as part of the market research process.
