Description
This a request for information. At this time, no contract shall be awarded from this RFQ. This is designed to assist leadership in making a determination for a large-scale office modification solution in response to COVID-19 and for a possible return to physical operations. Please see the draft supporting materials (Draft PowerPoint presentation & Draft performance work statement) attached to this announcement for configuration specifics, office layout and information concerning this workstation/desk barrier request. In addition to the attached material, below are additional considerations to note for your recommendations or proposed solutions. Solutions would need to work with existing desks and barriers. Our agency will not take desks apart. Agency leadership is interested in PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol) and glass solutions. The workstations are not identical in design, height or width. Because of this, the approximate height above existing desks create variability in desk and cabinet heights. Some workstations might have desks or cabinets that are higher than others. Barriers would need to remain the same height in relation to total height from the floor so each workstation can match uniformly across. Additionally, some workstations have standing desks and we would need to see PETG and glass options for modifications to support these workstations for when the incumbent of one of these desks is standing. At the present, we are only looking at barrier solutions for permanent and hoteling workstations. We are not seeking information or solutions to utilize shared spaces or conference rooms. As you can imagine, our project team will need to gather as much information as possible for leadership so they are able to make a decision that would best fit the needs of the agency. Please include in your PETG and glass proposals the tradeoffs associated with long-term vs short-term use and performance (i.e., a 1 year solution vs 10 year desk barrier solution), the ability to clean and maintain solutions, your lead time for delivery and installation, and natural light transmission differences. Please also include any schematics or pictures of previous work for other agencies or companies. Leadership is seeking visuals. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. We are hoping this information is helpful to you all for your recommendations or proposals. Leadership will use the information provided to make a decision that best meets local health guidelines and agency needs. Once solution needs are identified by leadership, an additional contracting opportunity/RFQ shall be posted for award bidding. For any additional questions, please feel to reach out to Ben Ruiz de Gamboa at benjamin.ruizdegmboa@usda.gov. Thank you, Ben
