- This is Sources Sought announcement only this is not a Request for Quote. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified vendors with special interest. No solicitation is being issued at this time. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 2, NJ anticipate a purchase order for the following: Surgical Simulator The appropriate NAICS Code is 339112 - Manufacturing (provide NAICS code if different) Interested vendors are reminded that in accordance with FAR 4.12, prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications in conjunction with FAR 4.11 required registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award of a contract. FOB Destination Brand Name or EQUAL to VirtaMed ~ will be reviewed and considered. Here is a summary of the key points that make VirtaMed products superior to the others in the market. I also included links to numerous validation studies comparing VirtaMed products with direct competitors and highlighting VirtaMed s advantages. Also attached are the product specifications that provide more details. With the VirtaMed solution, you would be purchasing one simulator with interchangeable modules. The allows for great versatility, efficiency and convenience in training and also provides ease to add more disciplines in years to come. Must have haptic technology. Overall: Interdisciplinary, interchangeable platform (e.g. arthroscopy, gynecology, urology, general surgery) Plug and Play capabilities across disciplines Anatomically correct rubber models, ORIGINAL instruments combined with high fidelity simulation, Validation studies that contain favorable Virtamed vs. competitor advantage information: Simulator specific: Note: this covers modules that are not included in the initial purchase (e.g. ArthroS Hip, Ankle, GynoS OBGYN) however crucial that simulator platform can be extended depending on needs of program directors and hence included here. I know podiatry also had interest in this so ankle is prob a system they will soon want to acquire. VirtaMed ArthroS: 1. Preferred and Exclusive Partnership with AANA Arthroscopy Association of North America (This is the ONLY association training master arthroscopists in the world!) 2. Arthroscopy platform with interchangeable modules (FAST, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle) 3. Tactile feedback provided by anatomical replica of the joint containing all relevant joint structures 4. Original arthroscopy instruments used, maintaining feel and functionality 5. Possibility to have 3 instruments in the joint at the same time (e.g. camera, probe and shaver) 6. Original SawBones® FAST Module (physical inlets additional to VR-adapted module) 7. Hip module contains replaceable skin insert to allow for portal placement 8. Zero radiation fluoroscopy simulation to support portal placement in hip module VirtaMed UroS: 1. Original endoscopy instruments used, maintaining feel and functionality 2. Haptic feedback provided by a high-fidelity haptic interface in combination with real surgical tools. 3. Highly realistic high-fidelity virtual reality image stream containing all relevant anatomical structures, pathologies, complications and simulation of fluid management. VirtaMed LaparoS: 1. Platform is designed to accommodate laparoscopic training for General Surgery and Gynecological Laparoscopy and can also be used for training of other medical specialties such as arthroscopy, gynecology and urology. 2. Patient positioning: Anatomically accurate abdomen model is rotatable allowing to practice different patient positions (e.g. Trendelenburg, anti-Trendelenburg). Rotation of abdomen produces correct physical behavior of the organs inside simulation. 3. Trocar and instruments placement: Trocars and instruments can be freely placed on the abdomen model, allowing the trainee to learn instrument handling with different trocar placement. 4. Team Training: LaparoS allows for a realistic OR team setup as the entire team can surround the abdomen model and learn how to collaborate in limited space. VirtaMed GynoS: 1. Tactile feedback provided by anatomical replica containing all relevant structures 2. Original instruments, maintaining the feel and functionality of clinical setting 3. 5 original IUD types and uterine sounding to train the specific placement steps for all IUD s on the market 4. Original embryo transfer and intrauterine insemination catheters, to teach the nuanced variances in navigating cervical canals 5. Simulated transvaginal and transabdominal probes which interact with the ultrasound image and allow fluid visualization of the entire uterine cavity 6. Different interchangeable uterus anatomies tailored to each module, including 3 uterine positions, 5 cervical canal options and a vagina with realistic haptic feedback upon probe movement Responses should address how you will meet the Government's needs and provide a brief capability statement.
