Description
Sources Sought Notice 2020-00281 Item Name: Circuit Card Assembly NSN: 5998-01-184-6654 Part Number: 1026248-1 Quantity: 18 (Minimum) 581 (Estimated Maximum) End Item: M1 Abrams Tank RESPONSE DATE: 30 November 2020 REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION: The Circuit Card Assembly is located in the Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) Air Temperature Controller. The Circuit Card Assembly, 1026248-1, is a circuit card located in the NBC Air Temperature Controller. The Air Temperature Controller is a single line replaceable unit (LRU) containing the electronic circuits required to control the temperatures of the Integrated NBC Protection system when integrated with the appropriate servos, sensors, and other ancillary components. The Air Temperature Controller contains two separate control channels, one for anti-ice temperature control and one for conditioned air temperature control. The anti-ice control channel of the controller accepts input signals from the anti-ice temperature sensor and the temperature selector and provides output current signal to the anti-ice valve. The conditioned air control channel of the controller accepts input signals from the conditioned air temperature sensor and the temperature selector and provides an output current signal to the temperature control valve. The Government currently does not have a Technical Data Package (TDP) to purchase this part from other than the current source(s). HONEYWELL LIMITED has developed, tested, and obtained Government approval for this item for application in the M1 Abrams tank at their own cost. Only HONEYWELL LIMITED has the capability to supply the Circuit Card Assembly. Installing hardware that has not undergone similar verifications could lead to a failure of the tanks steering system. Under battlefield conditions, such a failure will render the tank unable to proceed with its mission function and will endanger the life of the crew. Please Note: -This notice is not an open solicitation i.e., Invitation for Bid (IFB) or Request for Proposal (RFP). -Technical data is not available for this item. -Qualification testing and evaluation is required to become an approved source. -Source approval does not guarantee business. -Qualifying as an approved source only provides the opportunity to compete on future solicitations.
