Description
Yates Desk Barriers Request for Information This a request for information (RFI) for market research purposes. The intention is to involve potential offerors early in the acquisition process. No contract shall be awarded from this RFI. A contracting opportunity may be posted at a later date. The intended project is for a large-scale office furnishing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and for a possible return to physical operations. For situational awareness, any formal solicitation and project start times for this project will be driven by costs and available agency funding. FAR 10.001(1)(a)(b) states that Agencies shall ensure that legitimate needs are identified and trade-offs evaluated to acquire items that meet those needs and to Conduct market research appropriate to the circumstances Therefore, pricing and tradeoffs are needed for market research purposes. Please see the draft supporting materials (Draft PowerPoint presentation & Draft performance work statement) attached to this announcement. In addition to the attached material, below are additional considerations and project requirements to note in your suggestions or pre-solicitation proposals. Solutions would need to work with existing workstations. Our agency will not take desks apart. There are 693 desks. Agency leadership is interested in PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol) and glass desk barrier solutions that are easily mountable. Please provide pricing for each material per a 693 count for a 2 x 4 workstation. Please include any underlying fees such as delivery and installation. Workstation configurations and office layout can be viewed in the PowerPoint. The ability to furnish and install 1 glass and 1 PETG sample for a 2 x 4 workstation would be a firm requirement for any proposal once the project progresses to the solicitation phase. Some workstations might have cabinets that are higher than others. Barriers would need to remain relatively the same height in relation of total height from the floor. The height requirement for barriers is to raise to on or above 78 from the floor. Please see the refer to the PowerPoint for a visual. At the present, we are only considering barrier solutions for permanent and hoteling workstations. We are not seeking information or solutions to utilize shared spaces or conference rooms. In addition to the above, please include the following in your responses for PETG and glass proposals Any tradeoffs considerations between your glass and PETG desk barrier solution. (For example: durability, cleanability and performance) Estimated lead time for delivery and installation (in addition to fees) Please include any existing contract vehicles that could streamline the acquisitions process such as 8a certification. Please also include any schematics or pictures of previous work. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. We are hoping this information is helpful to you all for your pre-solicitation proposals. Leadership will use the information provided in your responses to make a decision that best meets local health guidelines and agency needs. For any additional questions, please feel to reach out to Ben Ruiz de Gamboa at benjamin.ruizdegamboa@usda.gov
