Description
20 NOVEMBER 2020 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 1. Do you have the present weight of the trailer with an empty tank? We do not know the exact weight of the current trailer and do not have to capability to weigh it. The GVWR of the current trailer is 13,300 lbs. If you subtract the 500 gallons of Nitrogen X 8 pounds per gallon of N2 (500 gal x 8 lbs = 4,000 lbs), the weight of the trailer with an empty tank would be no greater than 9,300 lbs. 2. Is the 15,000 GVWR flexible so that we offer a 20,000 GVWR type (difference in price is less than $2K and KIC will absorb the increase)? Although we prefer a 15,000 GVWR, a 20,000 GVWR is acceptable. Additionally, if your proposed trailer does not have a ball hitch, then please provide the type of hitch you are recommending in your proposal (i.e. pintle, etc.). 3. Are the hose locker, hoses with dog-bones, and the tool locker included in your GVWR total? These seem to be added to the present built. The current trailer GVWR of 13,300 lbs does not include the hose locker, hoses with dog bones, and the tool locker. 4.Regarding the hoses mentioned in 3.1.6 of the Technical Requirements, we read Aeroquip 1529-6 hose, or equivalent. Typically, the Navy uses a double braided over bellows hose made from 100% Stainless Steel. What you are requesting is made from rubber composites. Could you please clarify? I looked up the areoquip 1529-6 hose and it seems like they make different makes to this hose. They have ones with rubber exterior and internals have the double braded steel. Overall I require hoses rated with a 16,000psig burst pressure stated in the NSTM 550 paragraph 550-7.22.3 that can handle gas N2 flowing through it. Please see solicitation in attachments.
