Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command � Watervliet Arsenal (ACC-WVA) Contracting Office located at Watervliet Arsenal (WVA) is issuing this sources sought synopsis to notify any interested parties the Government is considering the purchase of one each DMG Mori douBLOCK 5-axis Milling Center DMC 125 for Benet Labs located at Watervliet Arsenal. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. This is a request for information on capabilities and interest and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP); submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary and the U.S. Government (USG) assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. No funds have been authorized, appropriated, or received for this effort. Data submitted in response to this market survey will not be returned. ITEM DESCRIPTION: One each DMG Mori DMC 125 FD duoBLOCK 5-axis Machining Center. This machining center will be factory-configured for use during Watervliet Arsenal (WVA) producibility phase of�various cannon production at the Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center (CCDC AC) Benet Labs with manufacturing process and technology transferred to WVA. NOTE:� It is anticipated that any procurement as a result of this notice will be a sole source procurement with DMG Mori, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the douBLOCK 5 axis Milling Center. Direct compatibility of manufacturing technology from CCDC AC Benet Labs ensures the economic transfer of optimized manufacturing process, computer programs and hardware to WVA. �Use of any other manufacturer�s equipment would require the Government to reproduce software programs and/or re-procure specialized accessories at a great expense that is unlikely to be recovered through competition. DMG MORI�s products are sold in the United States through a factory-authorized dealer/distributor network. �DMG MORI Erie, Erie Pa is the only authorized distributor to sell DMG MORI machining center in the East Coast region where CCDC AC Benet Labs is located.��� INTERESTED PARTIES.� The Government requests interested parties to submit a company brochure (if available) and a tailored capability statement for these requirements that clearly details the ability to perform the aspects of the notice described above. All proprietary information should be marked as such. The description should also include any anticipated needs for sub-tier vendors. Responses will be reviewed by U.S. Army Contracting Command � Watervliet Arsenal (ACC-WVA), Watervliet Arsenal and the US Army personnel only and will be held in a confidential manner. Any and all information provided shall include a description of the proposed manufacturing capabilities.� Submitted documentation will not be returned. � Submission Information: Responses to this sources sought synopsis should be submitted within 5 days from the date of this publication via email.
