- Rudee Inlet Maintenance Dredging Industry Day 2020 Special Announcement The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District would like to invite the Dredging and Earthwork Industry Contractors to participate in the Industry Day for the Rudee Inlet Maintenance Dredging project located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.� The U.S Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District is seeking qualified and experienced firms capable of performing dredging and beach placement for this project.� Work includes: Hydraulic Cutterhead maintenance dredging and pumping of sandy dredged material up to 1 mile. Performing maintenance dredging work in open ocean conditions with certified dredge plant weighing a minimum of 600,000 lbs and 1,000 continuous pump hp. Beach placement and grading to a design template with 0.5 ft horizontal and vertical tolerance. Capability to alternate between multiple beach placement areas. Ability to work safely in an area with high channel and beach placement area traffic. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this Industry Day will be held via webinar and conference line on November 16, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.� The Norfolk District will provide a webinar link and conference call-in information to all interested participants who properly respond by the due date. This event is not a marketing opportunity and will not promote upcoming projects. The purpose and focus of the event will be to seek Industry input and questions regarding best practices for the technical execution of the Rudee Inlet Maintenance Dredging project.� The event will include a presentation by Norfolk District staff members giving current information regarding Scope of Work, safety, dredging, beach placement, site access, and work zones.� All interested attendees must pre-register by e-mail to the Contract Specialist, Raven Sasser,� at Raven.D.Sasser@usace.army.mil and copy Stormie Wicks, the Civil Branch Contracting Officer, at Stormie.B.Wicks@usace.army.mil referencing the �Rudee Inlet Maintenance Dredging Project� not later than 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST), November 10, 2020.� Email requests beyond the due date will not be accepted.� Telephone requests will not be accepted.� The registration email must include the name of all attendees, company name, day-time telephone number, email address, and your relation to the dredging industry as a reason for attendance.� Registrants are encouraged to include suggested topics for discussion when registering.� Copies of draft technical documents and plans will be sent electronically for preview following pre-registration for the event. The Government will not be conducting one-on-one discussion related to any potential contract or on-going work under contract during this event.� This announcement is not a contract solicitation, request for proposal, or a commitment to offer work of any kind on the part of the Government.� The Army Corps of Engineers will not assume liability for costs incurred by an attendee or for travel expenses for marketing efforts.
