- # 2021-CJISFMU-0001 FBI CJIS Elevator Modernization� Special Notice # 2021-CJISFMU-0001 Request for Information & Industry Day Questions for Industry December 8, 2020 FBI CJIS Elevator Modernization Industry Day Questions: Introduction: On December 4, 2020, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) Division in Clarksburg, WV held an Industry Day for an Elevator Modernization Project. The Government continues to gathering market research information from industry experts to either replace and/or modernize the elevators at the FBI CJIS Campus, Main Office Complex located in Clarksburg, WV. � Questions/Clarification for Industry: 1. ���������� CLARIFICATION: As publicized in the Special Notice # 2021-CJISFMU-000 dated November 4, 2020, the following clarification is provided.� �A registered professional engineer shall perform work utilizing the 100% Design of the technical and performance specifications prepared by HF Lenz and Elevator Management Concepts, the Architectural and Engineering Consultant.� 2.����������� QUESTION: Please provide your thoughts as to hydraulic versus traction elevators. 3.����������� QUESTION: Recommendation for acting as a general contractor for a design/build project? 4.����������� QUESTION: What is a conceptual idea for the solution? 5.����������� QUESTION: What should this cost? Rough Order of Magnitude?� Duration?� 6.����������� QUESTION: How best to schedule the work? One elevator at a time?� Two at one time? � 7.����������� QUESTION:� How might this effort affect other related efforts such as inspection requirements, preventative maintenance program, emergency services, etc.?� 8.����������� QUESTION:� What contract type would industry recommend for this effort? Fixed Price, Incentive, Time & Materials, etc.? 9.����������� QUESTION:� How would industry recommend Section B / CLIN to be structured?� Price per elevator?� Total? 10.��������� QUESTION:� How does the FBI evaluate this effort?� Consider the possibility if one Offeror provides a replacement while another offers a modernization?� Best-Value?� Lowest Price/Technically Acceptable? 11.��������� QUESTION: Please describe options or obstacles as they relate to COVID-19. Response Requested: Reminder: This is a continuation of the Request for Information/Industry Day process.� This requirement remains subject to the availability of funds.� Please provide response to the above questions no later than 10am E.S.T. on December 22, 2020.
