- RFI# 2021-CJISFMU-0001 FBI CJIS Elevator Modernization:�Request for Information (RFI) / Industry Day Invitation: The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) Division in Clarksburg, WV is seeking information from industry for an Elevator Modernization Project.� The Government is seeking to gather market research information from industry to either replace and/or modernize the elevators at the FBI CJIS Campus, Main Office Complex located in Clarksburg, WV. �This is a Request for Information (RFI) and an Industry Day invitation to participate in an open discussion with personnel from the elevator industry.� This is not a solicitation. �In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this RFI / Industry Day are not offers and cannot form a binding contract commitment by the FBI, or the United States Government to take procurement action in this matter.� In addition, this requirement is subject to FAR 52.232-18, Availability of Fund (APR 1984).� Funds are not presently available for this contract. ��The Government is not responsible for any cost incurred in furnishing this information or attending Industry Day.� A response to this RFI / Industry Day will assist the government in determining the level of interest; ensuring adequate competition; identify technical capabilities from industry; and a possible acquisition strategy.� Note: Firms not responding to the RFI / industry Day will not be precluded from responding to a future solicitation. Summary: Responses to this RFI / Industry Day will familiarize the FBI with current industry practices to consider when preparing the elevator modernization or replacement options and the development of the acquisition strategy. �The FBI CJIS Division is seeking interest or input on a 100% design and installation contract for the replacement of elevators with gearless traction units or modernization of the existing hydraulic units, or a combination of the two options.� The government team will collect information on interest, alternative solutions and contract vehicles against funding availability and time to determine the best path forward. � Scope: A registered professional engineer, utilizing the technical and performance specifications as prepared by the Architectural and Engineering Consultant - HF Lenz and Elevator Management Concepts, shall perform the 100% design. �Attached are the performance specifications as prepared by HF Lenz for the traction replacement and hydraulic modernization of the CJIS Main Elevators. Currently, there are six (6) Montgomery Hydraulic Units in use within the main office building.� This equipment was installed in the mid 1990�s and has been maintained since that time. There is a total of five (5) passenger elevators and one (1) freight car.� See attached for Elevator Specifications. Requested Information: Please provide the FBI with a brief capabilities statement (2 pages) illustrating similar past performance.� Your capabilities response is requested no later than 11:00am EST on 11/20/2020.� Submit this information to lspatterson2@fbi.gov and cdbowman@fbi.gov. � Reminder: This is only a Request for Information and an invitation to participate in market research data gathering Industry Day.� This is not a solicitation.
