Please refer to Section C of solicitation, under C.9 (Supplemental Insurance Requirements) 5 Not Applicable Does experience providing ADA bus and van transportation service to VA Medical Centers for veteran patients qualify us as a bidder?  Our company has not previously provided car service and would utilize a local subcontractor to provide this portion of the work.  Our company would take care of communications, reservations, scheduling, dispatching, tracking, and reporting for all the transportation service involved in the contract. Contracted request trips after hours vary. They are generally required for later afternoon or weekend discharge or recurring Saturday appointments. We estimate that 20% of third party requests fall into this category, but this could change based on needs of VA facility. 12 Not Applicable What is the average distance(mileage) for lie down and wheelchair trips outside city limits ? Data unavailable. Best estimate would be an average of 40 miles. 13 Section B.3 (Performance Work Statement) What size vehicle is required? How many patients are we to transport on a trip?  Please refer to Solicitation Section B.3 (Performance Work Statement), under 7. Vehicles and 3. Number of Patients 14 Section B.3 (Performance Work Statement) 7 (Vehicles) 7(a) states that at least two sedans or six station wagons for performing trips with three vans providing wheelchair/lie down services. With that information given,how many vehicles are currently used to serve this contract? Unknown; facility does not know what current Contractor fleets consist for. It is offeror s responsibility to provide the appropriate vehicles per 7. Vehicles per Section B.3 (Performance Work Statement). 15 Section B.3 (Performance Work Statement) 7 (Vehicles) 7(c) states that wheelchair vans must be equipped with a hydraulic lift. Our company currently operates vans that are equipped with ADA rear access non hydraulic ramps that accommodate wheelchair and stretchers. Will this type of vehicle be considered for this contract? Lift must be able to support bariatric patients 16 Section B.3 (Performance Work Statement) 7 (Vehicles) In 7(c), can you define lie down ? Do these members require transportation via stretcher or just the ability to recline in vehicle seats? Require transportation via stretcher.
