REQUIREMENT TITLE: PGU-48/B Frangible Armor Piercing (FAP) Ammunition NSN/Part Number: 1305-01-619-5537 / WK303978AZ SOLICITATION NUMBER: FA8213-21-R-3020 Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis 1.� NOTICE: 1.1.� This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. 1.2.� The purpose of this Sources Sought Synopsis is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 332992, Small Arms Ammunition Manufacturing, which has a corresponding Size standard of 1250 employees.� The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. 2.� PROGRAM DETAILS: 2.1. AFLCMC/EBHGB is seeking qualified sources to manufacture replenishment spares of NSN: 1305-01-619-5537, PGU-48/B Frangible Armor Piercing ammunition.� The PGU-48/B is a non-explosive, tungsten alloy kinetic energy penetrator in an aluminum non-discarding projectile body that is covered with a molded windscreen.� The Government does not own the Technical Data Package for the tungsten penetrator or the projectile design but is defined in Performance Specification SP201824802.� The Government does own the Technical Data Package for the cartridge case design, propellant, and primer and can be furnished upon request (For Official Use Only). 2.2.� Known Qualified Sources:� Rheinmetall Waffe Munition Schweiz (RWMS), CAGE SD622 2.3. Prospective sources must demonstrate they possess the experience and capability to manufacture the PGU-48/B ammunition or that they are authorized vendors for PGU-48/B from a qualified manufacturer.� 2.4.� No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this Sources Sought Synopsis.� Any information submitted by respondents to this notice is strictly voluntary.� Proprietary information or trade secrets should be clearly marked and will be safeguarded by applicable government regulations.� Questions related to this Sources Sought Synopsis will be addressed to Tara Albretsen at (801) 777-9188, or via email at tara.albretsen@us.af.mil. 2.5. Any subsequent information relating to this notification will be electronically posted to www.beta.sam.gov. 2.6. All responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis must be submitted to the point of contact listed in paragraph 2.4. above.� This does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that procurement will be accomplished and is not a request for proposal or invitation for bid.� Responding to this notice in no manner guarantees a contract will be awarded. 3.� RESPONSE: 3.1.� Respondents to this Sources Sought Synopsis should, at a minimum, provide the following information: A) Company name. B) CAGE Code. C) Point of Contact with phone and email information. D) Business size/status as it relates to the above listed product. E) Status as 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned , HUBZone, or Woman-Owned small business. F) A brief synopsis of the company�s technical capability to manufacture the item, to include any current efforts to become qualified, and estimated timeframe, if not currently qualified. G) State whether you will be the actual manufacturer of this item, or if you intend to subcontract all or a portion of the requirement.� If you are not the actual manufacturer, indicate what production operations you intend to subcontract. H) Identify lead times that may impact delivery and an expected delivery schedule (in days after award), including your monthly production capacity. I) Identify minimum order quantities required for the item. J) Identify teaming arrangements or methodology to be employed to ensure requirements and delivery schedule for this item can be satisfied. K) Provide details on capabilities to handle sensitive or classified information. 4.� SPECIAL NOTE: 4.1. This Sources Sought Synopsis is part of the Acquisition Market Research Analysis and will be used solely to determine the basis for any competitive aspects of the acquisition.
