Description
VESSEL REPAIR - BOSTON WHALER This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. All questions must be sent directly to capplegate@usgs.gov by 12/15/2020 1700 PT. Contractor is responsible for reading the contents of this document and attachments. Quotes will be accepted via e-mail at capplegate@usgs.gov. Quotes submitted through any on-line portal will not be considered. The solicitation number is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) 140G0321Q0019. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2021-02, Effective 11/23/2020. SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS NAICS: 336611; Boat Building and Repairing; Size Standard = 1,250 Employees PSC: J019; Maintenance, Repair and Rebuilding of Equipment: Ships, Small Craft, Pontoons, and Floating Docks DESCRIPTION The USGS Research Vessel (R/V) Lutris, a 25' Boston Whaler, has extensive water damage in the hull cavity. To investigate the extent of the damage, the aft cabin bulkhead, deck, and fuel tank have been removed and holes have been drilled into the hull cavity. The USGS requires repair services as described on P. 13 of the attached SF-18. Because of the poor condition of the vessel, it cannot be moved out of the Homer, AK area. The services must be performed in Homer, AK. Offerors are to include a technical description of the services being offered in sufficient detail to evaluate compliance with the requirements in the solicitation as seen in the Evaluation Factors as seen in the Attachment. This may include product literature, references, or other documents, if necessary. There is no pre-arranged Site Visit for this project.
